QUERY: blackberry Results in rss 215, in directory 2. 1 site from 11. MySpace for BlackBerry now available I have been thoroughly enjoying my new BlackBerry Bold and earlier today I was browsing the social networking apps found on the BlackBerry site and discovered the cool Flickr application to go along with the Facebook application I already downloaded. I was then contacted just a couple minutes later by my RIM contact to let me know that the MySpace for BlackBerry application was launching later today.

Hands On: The BlackBerry Storm First off, a warning: Be very skeptical of any review you read in the next 24 to 48 hours that proclaims to be the definitive word on the Blackberry Storm. While clearly I have my own early impressions, the Storm is so different than any other smartphone I ve used, that I assume I m not the only one who is experiencing a bit of a learning curve. In case you ve missed all the pre-launch ruckus, the Storm ($199, after $50 rebate and two-year committment) is Blackberry s first touchscreen device, and RIM, the Storm s manufacturer, and their launch partner Verizon Wireless, are clearly hoping they have the first serious iPhone competitor on their hands. And while I would love to give you...

Verizon announces BlackBerry Storm availability, pricing At last, the Storm is on the horizon. (Wow, what are the odds I was the first person to break out that line?) Verizon just announced that the BlackBerry Storm (aka, the BlackBerry 9530), will be available online and in Verizon Wireless stores beginning Friday, November 21. The price is in line with expectations -- $199, after a $50 mail-in rebate, and of course, the obligatory two-year commitment. In case you haven t been paying attention, the touchscreen-based Storm is shaping up to be the first serious competitor to the iPhone, which is probably not particularly helpful to RIM. While yes, both are touchscreen devices, but the iPhone s software is what helps set it apart from every other smart phone on...

T-Mobile USA provides BlackBerry Curve 4.5 update I already upgraded my Sunset BlackBerry Curve to firmware 4.5 using an official RIM update for another country, but TmoNews just posted that the official T-Mobile USA 4.5 update is now available for the BlackBerry Curve 8320. This is the Curve with UMA support so if you don t have one of these then I don t recommend risking the update. You can visit the T-Mobile BlackBerry update page to get the software and update your device.

RIM announces BlackBerry Storm with responsive touch screen display It was no secret that the BlackBerry Storm was coming to Verizon, but now it is official as both Verizon Wireless and Vodafone announced the device with RIM tonight. The BlackBerry Storm is the first touch screen BlackBerry device and one of the first I have ever heard of that has a display with real feedback.

Should RIM also license Exchange ActiveSync? I was pretty impressed by the RIM BlackBerry Bold (see my first impressions post) and the display and keyboard sold me on it. I still think the display and keyboard are both fantastic and it is definitely the best BlackBerry device to date. However, due to the lack of Exchange ActiveSync support I am being forced to return it and move on. I tried the Outlook Web Access (OWA) method of connecting to my work email account, but the security settings on our server won t allow it to fully function for me. Also, this would only give me email access and not calendar, contacts, or task synchronization. Is it too much to ask RIM to add support for Exchange ActiveSync...

AT&T and RIM: Alienate your repeat customers with early upgrades and overpriced devices $399.00 PLUS an "Early Upgrade" charge? WTH? As some of you are aware, I am a Blackberry user. For the most part, this is not by choice -- I could certainly get by with another mobile device such as an iPhone or an HTC Touch or any number of other competing units, if it wasn t for that fact that I use corporate email, specifically Lotus Notes, and the only way I can wirelessly sync a device with it is by using our Blackberry Enterprise Server. In other words, if I want mobile corporate email, I can have any device in the world that I want as long as it s made by RIM. Click on the "Read the rest of...

Obama faces BlackBerry withdrawal Despite being a class-A CrackBerry addict, Barack Obama will likely be forced to go cold turkey from email when he takes office, The Times Jeff Zeleney reports. In addition to concerns about e-mail security, he faces the Presidential Records Act, which puts his correspondence in the official record and ultimately up for public review, and the threat of subpoenas. A decision has not been made on whether he could become the first e-mailing president, but aides said that seemed doubtful. Even so, he still hopes to keep a laptop on the Oval Office desk, which would be a first. Being forced to give up email would be hard on Obama, whose BlackBerry fairly crackled with incoming messages of advice and...
